Did you know that our next issue coming out around November is already wrapped up? If you’ve been following along on the Facebook page, you’ve seen some of the behind-the-scenes of the photo shoot. We’ll be adding more fun details about how the work gets done in the future, too!
You can find our submissions guidelines here. We are always looking for new patterns, sharing of techniques, informative articles, and new products coming soon. If you have an idea that you think might be a good fit, share it with us! Very specific and detailed information on the requirements are at that link.
As we prepare for this issue, though, I thought it was a good time to highlight two of the excellent reasons for submitting to Modern Quilts Unlimited, which I, as a new designer and author personally appreciated very much:
After 90 days, I, the author and designer received my full rights back. And I still got paid for my work. This means Ican publish my pattern myself and sell it as a standalone workThere are some caveats, obviously: I cannot use the written text or the illustrations and explanations from the magazine itself (that is copyrighted!) If you aren’t certain, please ask.
Modern Quilts Unlimited and its sister magazine Machine Quilting Unlimited are part of a truly independent publishing company. This means that they respect the work of all us indie designers and makers, whether we’re a small business or someone with exciting things to share.
Can’t wait to see what you share!
