both from the DRIFT collection by Angela Walters.
  •  22″ square of backing fabric of your choice

  • Eight (8) 5 7/8” squares of Sea Foam Green
  • One (1) 22″ square for the backing

Drift Pillow 1
Pair one 5 7/8″ square of Gemmed Pathways Terra with one square of Sea Foam Green. Place one atop the other, right sides facing. Using an erasable fabric marker and a straight edge, draw a diagonal line on the top square. Sew ¼” away from each side of the diagonal line. Cut through the drawn line. You should have two separate half-square triangles. Press seams open and repeat the same steps with the remaining fabric pairs.

Drift Pillow 2

Arrange the squares as shown in the diagram. Sew the rows first, and then stitch the rows together to form the complete pillow top. Your top should be 20″ square.

Drift Pillow 3

Align the pillow top and the backing fabric square, right sides facing, and sew a 1/4″ seam around the edges, leaving a 6″ opening. HINT: Start and stop your sewing away from the corners. Trim the seamlines and snip the corners to reduce bulk. Turn the pillow right-side-out. Stuff firmly with your choice of filling and hand-stitch the opening closed.
